Owners Mauricio Romero and Teresa Vasquez-Romero reside in San Antonio and have committed to providing the best quality products and services to their patrons. Their foremost concern is to address the health needs of local San Antonians and the menus of both the bakery and the bistro are reflective of this concern.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Romero have traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe and Canada. Their love of travel and discovering new parts of the world has given them an appreciation of different cultures. Therefore, they ensure an international flavor is part of the atmosphere of the business.

It is their strong desire that in the near future, San Antonio and it’s residents will be major participants in the focus on healthy eating. The number one focus at El Sol Bakery is eating healthy with a focus on whole grains.

El Sol Bakery opened for business in May 2004 in San Antonio’s King William area. Location #2 opened in October of 2007 at University Hospital Health Systems. This medical complex is currently undergoing a complete update and redesign and El Sol Bakery will once again be located within this new complex.
